After Sai Sudharshan hit a 34-ball 53, Vijay Shankar took over in the final over and hit a 24-ball 63 to push GT past the 200-run mark. With three wickets and 33 runs, KKR’s best bowler was Sunil Narine. However, KKR were blown away by GT’s 72 runs in the final four overs.
With Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Narayan Jagadeesan departing quickly, the Kolkata Knight Riders started to struggle to meet their massive target of 205. However, Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana took charge, contributing 100 runs for the third wicket. Rana crushed a 29-ball 45, while Iyer returned to form with a stunning 40-ball 83.
Alzarri Joseph quickly dismissed Rana and Iyer, turning things around while they kept KKR on top. Rashid Khan took out Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Shardul Thakur with a hat trick in the 17th over, giving it the appearance of being over.
However, Lord Rinku Singh had other ideas. With 29 required off the last over, Rashid Khan gave the ball to Yash Dayal. But Rinku Singh took him on for 5 sixes in a row to win the spectacular game for his team.
