The 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) mini-auction, scheduled for December 19, 2023, in Dubai, marks a historic shift as it takes place abroad for the first time. With 1166 player registrations vying for 77 slots, including 30 reserved for overseas players, the 10 IPL teams face a collective spending cap of ₹262.95 crore.

Australia’s World Cup heroes, Travis Head, Pat Cummins, and Mitchell Starc, enter the auction with a base price set at ₹2 crore each. New Zealand’s rising star, Rachin Ravindra, known for his standout performances in the 2023 World Cup, carries a base price of ₹50 lakh.

A major IPL transfer unfolded as Hardik Pandya returned to Mumbai Indians. Having led Gujarat Titans to victory in IPL 2022 and the final in 2023, Pandya’s move is a notable shift in the league dynamics.

Mumbai Indians further reshaped their squad by trading Australian all-rounder Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore. The November 26 deadline saw teams collectively retaining 173 players in preparation for the upcoming season.
