Mumbai Indians (MI) have opted to part ways with Jofra Archer and Cameron Green, initially signed for INR 17.5 crore and INR 8 crore, respectively, facilitating the acquisition of Hardik Pandya. Cricbuzz has verified this significant development for the five-time IPL champions, marking the culmination of what is poised to be the most substantial trade deal in the league’s history.
In exchange for Pandya, Mumbai Indians will pay INR 15 crore, and Gujarat Titans will receive this amount in their salary cap ahead of the upcoming auctions in Dubai on December 19. Additionally, Mumbai Indians will provide extra funds to the Gujarat Titans to waive the release clause for Pandya, who transitioned from an emerging MI player to a key contributor in the Titans’ championship-winning debut season.

All details of trades and financial transactions will be officially disclosed by Sunday, the final day for retention across all franchises. Despite Cameron Green’s commendable performance in IPL 2023, accumulating 452 runs and taking six wickets in 16 matches, Mumbai Indians find themselves compelled to release the towering Australian all-rounder to enhance team balance following Hardik’s recruitment.
In contrast, Jofra Archer’s IPL 2023 campaign was forgettable. Despite his stellar form with the Rajasthan Royals, the English fast bowler struggled to make an impact for Mumbai Indians, managing only two wickets in five matches with an expensive economy rate of 9.50. Archer returned home due to injury concerns, contributing to Mumbai’s decision to release him.
