In the IPL, every match matters, even for teams out of playoff contention. The BCCI’s regulations stipulate a Final League Standing Payment based on League Points, which are distributed according to teams’ positions in the points table before the Playoffs. The last-placed team gets one point, with each higher team earning an additional point, ensuring fair fund distribution. MI could escape from the 10th position if they win today. On the other hand, LSG needs a massive win to stand a chance at qualifying for the playoffs.
