Thala MS Dhoni and Run Machine Virat Kohli will start off the IPL 2024 on March 22, 2024 with a blockbuster Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the iconic Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
The IPL committee has finally revealed the schedule for the first leg of the tournament. Only the schedule of 21 matches have been released. This schedule is from March 22 to April 7. Interestingly, the home ground of Delhi Capitals is Vizag Cricket Stadium in the first leg of the IPL 2024.
BCCI has carefully thought about the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 and therefore matches in Delhi have been avoided. The day matches in the tournament will start on 3:30 PM IST and the night matches will begin on 7:30 PM IST. However, the opening match between Chennai Super Kings ahd Royal Challengers Bangalore will start at 8 PM IST.
MS Dhoni will once again lead the defending champions Chennai Super Kings while Faf du Plessis is going to lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Rishabh Pant is returning to lead Delhi Capitals while Pat Cummins is expected to lead Sunrisers Hyderabad. In a game-changing move, Hardik Pandya was also announced as the skipper of Mumbai Indians.
