Since Rishabh Pant’s unfortunate car accident in December, cricket experts have been buzzing about whether Ishan Kishan could be the perfect replacement for the hard-hitting left-handed batter in the Indian cricket team.
While Kishan has shown glimpses of his talent on the international stage, his inconsistency has been a cause for concern. However, Kishan’s three impressive knocks in the Ranji Trophy have provided a glimmer of hope that he could be the answer to India’s search for Pant’s successor.

In the 2018-19 season, Kishan’s superb 120 off 104 balls against Assam at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi demonstrated his ability to hit aggressively and put pressure on the opposition.
In the 2022-23 season, Kishan’s brilliant 132 off 195 balls against Kerala showcased his versatility and adaptability to the match situation. And in the 2016-17 season, Kishan’s highest first-class score of 273 against Delhi at St Xavier’s College Ground in Thumba proved that he can occupy the crease for a long time and build crucial partnerships.
