Jasprit Bumrah was born to Jasbir Singh and Daljit Kaur. Jasbir was an industrialist who assisted his father, Santokh Singh Bumrah, in managing their three factories. Tragically, Jasbir passed away when Jasprit was just five years old, leaving few photographs of their father-son moments.
Daljit Kaur Bumrah, Jasprit’s mother, served as the principal of Ahmedabad’s Nirman High School, where Jasprit attended. She played a pivotal role in his journey to success.

Juhika Bumrah married Varun Celly in February 2016. In March 2021, Jasprit Bumrah tied the knot with Sanjana Ganesan in a private ceremony in Goa. Bumrah took a break from international cricket during this period, citing personal reasons. Their relationship was kept private until their marriage. Sanjana, a sports presenter and model, shared the joyful news through an Instagram post, captivating everyone with their beautiful wedding photos. Jasprit Bumrah Career
In the T20I series against West Indies in August 2016, Jasprit Bumrah claimed the most wickets (28) in Twenty20 Internationals in one calendar year, surpassing Dirk Nannes’ record.
In January 2017, during the T20I series of England’s 2016–17 India tour, Bumrah earned the Player of the Match award for picking up two wickets and conceding 20 runs. In the 2017 Sri Lanka tour, he recorded the most wickets (15) by any fast bowler in a bilateral ODI series of five or fewer matches.
In November 2017, Bumrah made his Test debut for India against South Africa, and in the 3rd test match of India Tour of South Africa 2017-18, he achieved his maiden five-wicket haul in Tests. On the Boxing Day Test of India Tour of Australia 2018, Bumrah became the first Asian bowler to take five-wicket hauls in Australia, England, and South Africa in the same calendar year, finishing the series as the joint highest wicket-taker.
In 2018, he was named in the World Test XI and ODI XI by the ICC. Bumrah was part of India’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup, finishing as the leading wicket-taker for India. He played a crucial role, taking his 100th wicket in ODIs during the tournament.
In August 2019, Bumrah took his fourth Test five-wicket haul against West Indies and later became the third Indian to take a hat-trick in a Test match. He played his maiden Test match in India in February 2021.
Bumrah was named in India’s squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and, in February 2022, was appointed Vice-captain for the T20I and Test series against Sri Lanka. In March 2022, he achieved his maiden Test five-wicket haul in India.
In April 2022, Bumrah was among the Wisden Five Cricketers of the Year. On 1 July 2022, he captained the Indian Test team against England for the first time. On 2 July 2022, Bumrah scored 29 runs in an over bowled by Stuart Broad, breaking Brian Lara’s 18-year-old Test record.
On 12 July 2022, he took 6/19 in a One Day International match against England, India’s best figures against England, and the third-best figures for India in ODIs. On 17 July 2022, Bumrah became the number 1 ranked bowler in ODIs according to ICC.
Bumrah featured in two of the three T20s against Australia but was pulled out on the eve of the South Africa series due to back pain.
On 21 August 2023, Bumrah was named in India’s squad for the 2023 Asia Cup. He played his first match in this series against Pakistan, scoring 16 runs in 14 balls, but the match was abandoned due to rain. He was later replaced by Mohammed Shami for the match against Nepal due to personal reasons.
