Jasprit Bumrah is expected to be Out of Cricket for the next 4-5 months; Likely to miss both IPL 2023 and WTC Final

Huge blow for Team India.

Star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is likely to miss IPL 2023 and World Test Championship (WTC) Final as his comeback from injury might take some more time.

It has been reported that Jasprit Bumrah is expected to be out of Cricket for the next 4-5 months. The report further suggested that the BCCI wants Bumrah to get fit for the ODI World Cup in October-November and they don’t want to take any risk regarding his injury.

Jasprit Bumrah last played for India in the T20I match against Australia at home on 25 September 2022.

Earlier, Bumrah was all set to return to competitive cricket with Sri Lanka ODIs last month but was ruled out later after failing to recover in time. After that, it was reported that he will be making a comeback from the 3rd Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. However, he was not included not only in the squad for the last two Tests, but also in the squad for the ODI series against Australia.

Meanwhile, it’s a big blow for Mumbai Indians who will look to bounce back in IPL 2023 after a disastrous last season.

Team India is leading the Border Gavaskar Trophy by 2-0 with two more Tests left. If Team India wins the 3rd Test, which will be played at the Holkar Stadium in Indore from 1 March, they will directly qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final.
