Jitesh Sharma, born on 22 November 1993, hails from a Hindu Brahmin family in the city of Amravati, Maharashtra. His father, Mohan Sharma, and mother, Ashima Sharma, are integral parts of his family. Domestic Career

Jitesh Sharma embarked on his List A career on 27 February 2014, representing Vidarbha in the 2013–14 Vijay Hazare Trophy. His first-class debut took place during the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy on 1 October 2015. Notably, he emerged as the leading run-scorer for Vidarbha in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, amassing 298 runs in seven matches. The 2023 IPL season played a pivotal role in elevating Jitesh Sharma’s profile on the domestic scene.

IPL Career

Jitesh initiated his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians in 2017, securing a contract worth 10 lakh rupees. Subsequently, Punjab Kings acquired him for 20 lakh rupees in a later IPL edition. An impactful moment in his IPL career came when he dismissed M.S. Dhoni with a caught-behind delivery, contributing significantly to his team’s victory. Currently, Jitesh Sharma is an integral part of the Punjab Kings squad.

International Career

Jitesh received his inaugural call-up to the Indian cricket team in January 2023 for the T20I series against Sri Lanka. He marked his international debut against Nepal on 3 October 2023 during the 2022 Asian Games. With an eye on the Australia T20I series in 2023, Jitesh’s career is poised for further expansion, generating anticipation that he might feature in the 2024 T20 World Cup. In the fourth T20I against Australia, he showcased his prowess by scoring 35 runs off 19 balls, followed by a notable performance in the fifth T20I, where he contributed 24 runs off 16 balls.
