Kieron Pollard achieved a remarkable milestone during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) match against the Barbados Royals. Although Pollard retired from the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022, he continues to play in the CPL. The West Indies cricket legend became only the second player in history to score 14,000 runs in T20 cricket. Additionally, Pollard created history by becoming the first player in the world to score 14,000 T20 runs and take 300 wickets.

On Friday, while chasing a target of 179 runs against the Barbados Royals, Pollard remained unbeaten on 19 runs off 9 balls, joining Chris Gayle’s elite club. So far, Pollard has scored 14,000 runs in 712 T20 matches, while Chris Gayle tops the list with 14,562 runs in just 463 matches. Other players with more than 13,000 T20 runs include Alex Hales, David Warner, and Shoaib Malik.

Chris Gayle remains the highest run-scorer in T20 cricket with 14,562 runs, which include 22 centuries and 88 half-centuries. Pollard now needs just 563 runs to surpass Gayle’s record, and he could become the leading run-scorer in T20 cricket in the coming years.
