According to reports by, all is not well between KL Rahul and the Lucknow franchise. A few months ago, after the end of an IPL match, a heated argument was seen between franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka and KL Rahul, for which the franchise owner was also criticized. A few days after the incident, Goenka invited KL Rahul for dinner. During this, both hugged. From that picture it seemed that everything is fine between the two.

KL Rahul joined the team in 2022 and led the team to the playoffs in consecutive seasons. But could not reach the knockout stage of the tournament. Last season the team finished seventh in the points table. According to the report, KL Rahul may rejoin Royal Challengers Bangalore. The franchise is looking for an Indian player who can captain them, as Virat Kohli has decided to not continue captaining the franchise.

In 2022, Virat Kohli left the captaincy of RCB and Faf du Plessis became the new captain of the team but now 40-year-old Faf cannot be with the franchise for long. Rahul started his IPL career with RCB in 2013 and then went to Hyderabad but then he returned and was part of the RCB team that reached the final in 2016. Rahul finished the season as the 11th-highest run-scorer and RCB’s third, with 397 runs from 14 matches.
