Team India’s recent performance in the Asia Cup showcased their dominance, culminating in their eighth title win as they defeated Sri Lanka by 10 wickets. Mohammed Siraj’s remarkable performance in the final tilted the contest in India’s favor.
In the Super Fours stage, India’s strong form continued with a record 228-run victory over Pakistan, where Virat Kohli and KL Rahul’s unbeaten centuries set the tone. Kuldeep Yadav also shone with a five-wicket haul in that match, limiting Pakistan to 128.
Kuldeep’s excellence continued in the following match against Sri Lanka, contributing to India’s 41-run victory. Although he narrowly missed consecutive five-wicket hauls, his performance was instrumental in bundling out Sri Lanka for 172 while chasing 214.
Kuldeep Yadav’s outstanding performances earned him the Player of the Series award in the Asia Cup, solidifying his position as a key player for India in the upcoming World Cup.

It’s worth noting that a few years ago, Kuldeep struggled to secure a spot in both the Indian national team and his former IPL franchise, the Kolkata Knight Riders. However, after his move to the Delhi Capitals, he made a comeback and is now regarded as India’s “trump card,” as emphasized by BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar, who had worked closely with Kuldeep during his tenure as assistant coach of the Delhi Capitals.
