March 2021 saw Williams included in South Africa’s limited-overs squads for their series against Pakistan. He made his T20 International (T20I) debut against Pakistan on April 10, 2021. In May 2021, he was named in South Africa’s Test squad for their series against the West Indies.
Additionally, Williams was selected for South Africa’s One Day International (ODI) squad for their series against Ireland in May 2021. He made his ODI debut on July 16, 2021, against Ireland, impressively taking a wicket with his very first delivery. In September 2021, he was named as one of three reserve players in South Africa’s squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
In March 2022, Williams earned a place in South Africa’s Test squad for their series against Bangladesh. His Test debut took place on March 31, 2022, against Bangladesh, where he claimed his maiden Test wicket.
