The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is all set to kick off from March 22, and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are gearing up for an action-packed season. The franchise will commence their IPL 2024 campaign against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on March 24 in Jaipur, followed by a home game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on March 30.
LSG will then travel to Bengaluru to take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on April 2, before returning home to face Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 7. The first phase of IPL 2024 matches, from March 22 to April 7, has been announced, with the remaining schedule to be revealed after the confirmation of the dates for the 2024 general elections.
After finishing third in the league stage of IPL 2023, LSG qualified for the playoffs but were defeated by Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Eliminator. Lucknow Super Giants were active in the IPL 2024 mini-auction in Dubai, securing the services of six players. They acquired fast bowler Shivam Mavi for ₹6.40 crore and England all-rounder David Willey for ₹2 crore. Additionally, they picked up Indian all-rounder Arshin Kulkarni for ₹20 lakh. Manimaran Siddharth (₹2.40 crore), Ashton Turner (₹1 crore), and Mohd Arshad Khan (₹20 lakh) were the other three players added to the Lucknow franchise’s squad at the auction.
