Marcus Stoinis recently smashed 70 odd against Punjab Kings at the Mohali to help his team post a monstrous total of 257 runs on the board. It was the second-highest total ever in the history of the Indian Premier League. The Australian all-rounder has returned to form with a few good innings in the past couple of matches.
Marcus Stoinis also does a fine job with the ball, but unfortunately for the Lucknow Super Giants, he sustained a finger injury in the game against Punjab Kings. Following this, he was taken off the field for scans. This injury concern can really hamper the campaign of LSG if Stoinis fails to return for upcoming matches.
However, there is nothing to fear as Stoinis has confirmed that it was a minor injury, and he will be up and running in the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the post-match ceremony of the LSG vs PBKS game, Marcus Stoinis said, “The finger is alright. It is better now. We will get scans done.”
He further stated about the Mohali and Lucknow pitch as well. “We were joking about the difference between this wicket and the one at our home. Was just trying to build partnerships. Ayush got off to a flyer as well. I do like to take responsibility of batting in the middle order and finishing it off. I have batted everywhere in my career. I was swinging a few in the nets. So, they got excited and gave me the new ball. No one loves to bowl on a flat one. The home wicket suits me more as my change of pace helps me there.”
