Wade is actively involved in domestic cricket, contributing his skills to the Tasmanian cricket team, where he also assumes the captaincy role. Hailing from Hobart, Matthew Wade was born on 26 December 1987 into a sports-oriented family. His father, Scott Wade, carved a notable career as an Australian rules footballer, playing for Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and contributing significantly to Clarence and Hobart in the Tasmanian Football League (TFL). Scott Wade later assumed the role of CEO at AFL Tasmania, showcasing his enduring commitment to the sport. There is no information regarding the mother of Matthew Wade.

Matthew’s grandfather, Michael Wade, held the esteemed position of president at the Hobart Football Club.

Embedded in a family deeply connected to sports, Wade’s cousin is none other than Jeremy Howe, a prominent defender for the Collingwood Football Club.

From a young age, Wade showcased his sporting prowess, representing Tasmania in both junior cricket and junior football. He assumed the vice-captaincy for the Tassie Mariners in the TAC Cup, sharing the field with future Australian Football League stars such as Sam Lonergan, Grant Birchall, and Jack Riewoldt. His early talent led him to represent Australia in the 2006 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

However, adversity struck at the age of 16 when Wade was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Undeterred, he faced the challenge head-on, undergoing two rounds of chemotherapy and ultimately triumphing over the disease.

Adding to the uniqueness of his journey, Wade is colour blind, a condition that has presented challenges on the cricket field, particularly with certain ball colours. Despite these hurdles, his determination and resilience have defined his remarkable career in international cricket.

Julia Barry, the spouse of Australian cricketer Matthew Wade, is known for maintaining a private and low-profile life. She possesses an Instagram account with 6510 followers, but it is set to private, keeping the details of her personal life discreet. Despite Julia’s preference for privacy, Matthew Wade frequently shares glimpses of their life together, including moments with their child, on his public Instagram account.

Details about Julia Barry are limited, and she keeps a relatively low online presence. While it is known that she is 35 years old as of 2021, her exact birth date remains undisclosed. The couple, however, often shares their family moments, offering fans a peek into their life beyond the cricket field.
