India Premier League 2022 will be played as per the original schedule in April 2022. But before that, a big event is around the corner which is IPL Mega Auction on 12th & 13th February 2022. All the franchise or teams were allowed to retain maximum 4 players. After the list of released players were out by every franchise, the two new teams can grab 3 players each before releasing them in the auction pool.

The two new teams Ahmedabad and Lucknow were given a time frame within which they had to close a deal with their interested players. As per the reports, Lucknow have picked KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi, whereas Ahmedabad went for Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan & Shubman Gill. Both the teams will enter the auction table with the a purse value of 60crore & 53 crores respectively. IPL mega auction has always been a pleasure to cricket fans eyes as star players are moved from one franchise to other resulting in building a strong team.

We are expecting big bids for some players in this mega auction due to multiple reasons. One of them being captaincy, after the announcement of Virat Kohli quitting RCB leadership role and Punjab Kings & Kolkata Knight Riders seeing the exit of their captain KL Rahul & Eoin Morgan respectively. We expect these teams to go all in for a player who could lead their side to glory in the upcoming seasons. Therefore, we expect Shreyas Iyer to accumulate huge bids for his captaincy skills as he proved it with Delhi Capitals franchise. We will not be shocked, if he emerges as the most expensive player in this year IPL Mega Auction 2022.
