Stokes has never been the full-time captain of an IPL team. However, his recent success as captain of the England team, as well as his prowess in the T20 format, has many wondering if Stokes’ arrival will result in Dhoni relinquishing his captaincy duties to the England star. He did it once before, at the start of the IPL 2022, when Ravindra Jadeja was assigned the role. However, it did not produce positive results, and Dhoni was reassigned as captain.
