Mustafizur Rahman, a Bangladeshi international cricketer known for his prowess as a left-arm fast-medium bowler, has earned acclaim as one of the finest fast bowlers of his generation and a standout talent from his homeland. Notably, he stands as the only overseas player to have secured the Emerging Player Award in the 2016 IPL while representing the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Mustafizur Rahman Family- Father, Mother, Siblings
Mustafizur’s journey began in the small town of Satkhira in Khulna, Bangladesh, where he spent his formative years as the youngest of six children to Abul Qasem Gazi and Mahmuda Khatun. His father’s passion for cricket ignited his own interest in the game, leading him to practice diligently, even if it meant traveling 40 kilometers away from home each morning. He often missed school to pursue his cricketing aspirations.
Before honing his bowling skills, Mustafizur initially played as a batsman with a tennis ball. He drew inspiration from his idol, Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir.
On a more somber note, on March 15, 2019, Mustafizur and several members of the Bangladesh test team were on the brink of entering the Al Noor mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand when a tragic terrorist attack unfolded. The incident deeply affected all the team members.
Mustafizur moved forward and found solace in marriage, as he tied the knot on March 22, 2019 with Samiya Parvin. His brother hoped that this step would aid him in overcoming the shock of witnessing the horrific events in New Zealand.
