    Asia Cup is a tournament organized by the ACC (Asian Cricket Council) since 1983, and the first edition was held in 1984. The tournament alternates between ODIs and T20s every two years. India is the most successful team with seven titles (6 ODI titles and 1 T20I title), followed by Sri Lanka with six titles (5 ODI titles and 1 T20I title). Sri Lanka is the reigning champion of the Asia Cup 2022.

    The schedule for the 2023 Asia Cup, co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka, is out with the tournament beginning from August 30 to September 17. In the opening match of the Asia Cup 2023, Nepal will face Pakistan in Multan. The tournament will be played in the 50-overs format and will comprise six teams, divided into two groups with three teams each.

    Group A consists of Pakistan, India, and Nepal, while Group B comprises Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka. The tournament will follow a hybrid model with Pakistan hosting four matches across two venues and Sri Lanka hosting the remaining nine games. After the group stage matches, the Super 4s will commence on September 6, leading up to the final on September 17 in Colombo, which will be contested by the top two teams from the Super 4s.

    The forthcoming 16th edition of the Asia Cup cricket tournament will witness the convergence of top cricketing nations including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and the debutant team Nepal.
