The eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is currently underway, but the competition has hit a major roadblock. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly contemplating moving the remainder of the tournament to Karachi due to a financial crunch.
Initially, the first 14 matches were scheduled to take place in Karachi and Multan, with the teams relocating to Lahore and Rawalpindi for the latter stages. However, due to a disagreement between the PCB and the local government of Punjab, the tournament will no longer shift to Lahore and Rawalpindi, and the entire event may be hosted in Karachi.

As per reports, the Punjab government had promised to provide security for the players for PKR 50 million. However, after the government dissolved in January, the new administration demanded a staggering PKR 450 million. The PCB is unwilling to pay the additional sum and is considering hosting the remainder of the tournament in Karachi.
