In a nail-biting finish of Australia vs Afghanistan where hosts defeated Afghanistan by the shortest of margins of four runs in a Super 12 match where Rashid put up a strong fight and fought till the end against the Aussies which really put a dent in their run rate and now they are relied on Sri Lanka to beat England for their chances of semis.

    Match Short Summary

Earlier Australia put a target of 169 with a brilliant inning of Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis at the end. Afghanistan was off to a flying start given by Gurbaz and by following him Gulbadin scored 39(23) but the hero was Rashid Khan who scored 48 off just 23 balls when it was needed 49 off the last 3 overs. Then Rashid took the Aussies on hand with the help of 4 sixes and 3 fours he anchored his innings but it was not enough to put them behind the line.

Australia apart from Maxwell, Adam Zampa ‘s and Josh Hazlewood’s fiery spells helped Australia. Adam Zampa picked two wickets in an over following a runout of Gulbadin giving just three runs in that over. Then Josh dismissed Nabi and put Afghanistan on backfoot. Now all eyes are on Sri Lanka and England let’s see who wins.
