Rishabh Pant Became the First Player to do This in the History of World Cricket, Created a Record with a Fast Paced Innings in the Fifth Test

Rishabh Pant played a fast paced innings of 61 runs in the second innings of Team India in the 5th match of the Test series between India and Australia being played at Sydney Cricket Ground. Pant completed his fifty in just 29 balls during this time, with which he also made a big record.

At the end of the second day of the 5th and last match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 being played between India and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground, the match had reached a very exciting turn. Like the first day, the dominance of the bowlers was seen on the second day as well, in which a total of 15 wickets fell throughout the day.

Pant completed his half-century in this match in just 29 balls, which was also the second fastest fifty of his Test career.

Pant became the first player to score 2 half-centuries in less than 30 balls in Tests

While Rishabh Pant holds the record for scoring the fastest fifty in Test cricket for India, he missed breaking this record by just 2 balls in this match. Pant had completed his half-century in just 28 balls in the Bengaluru Test match against Sri Lanka in the year 2022. At the same time, now in the Sydney Test match, he managed to complete his fifty in 29 balls.

Pant has now become the first player in world cricket to have a record of playing 2 half-century innings in Test cricket in 30 or less balls. Pant played an innings of 61 runs in 33 balls in the Sydney Test match in which he also hit 4 sixes along with 6 fours and during this his strike rate was 184.85. Due to Pant’s innings, Team India was definitely able to make this match a little exciting.

Pant became the second fastest player to score at least 50 runs in Australia

It is not easy for any batsman to score fast in Tests in Australia, while Pant, on the basis of his 61-run innings, has included himself in a list which earlier included the names of David Warner and Adam Gilchrist. Pant has now become the second fastest player to score at least 50 runs in Australia.

Pant scored runs at a total strike rate of 187.84 during his innings, while David Warner, who is at the top of this list, scored runs at a strike rate of 203.70 against Pakistan in 2017, while now Adam Gilchrist is at the third place in the list, who scored runs at a strike rate of 172.88 in his innings in the Perth Test match against England in 2006.
