    3. 82 vs New Zealand, Auckland 1994

Navjot Singh Sidhu, the Indian opener on the tour of New Zealand suffered an injury and this gave birth to the legendary partnership between Sachin Tendulkar and the opening slot. The Little Master was promoted up the order and he grabbed the opportunity by both hands. Sachin smashed 82 off just 49 balls to cement his place at the top of the order.

    2. 57 vs Pakistan, Sialkot 1989

The 16 year old Sachin Tendulkar was a brave batter who did not shy away from facing any opponent. He arrived at the crease when India was in huge pressure to somehow save the Test match while the likes of Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis were bowling against them. Sachin showed immense resilience and resolve to score a half century even after being hit on helmet by a Waqar Younis bouncer. The legend of Sachin Tendulkar in Test cricket started from that point.
