The much-awaited thirteenth edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup is scheduled to be held in India from October 5 to November 19, featuring ten formidable teams vying for glory. The event will unfold across ten venues, promising an extravaganza of world-class cricketing action.

In a recent statement, Sanjay Manjrekar unveiled his selections for the semifinalists of the ICC World Cup 2023. According to the cricketing expert, the four teams that will make it to the penultimate stage of the competition are India, Australia, England, and New Zealand.

Interestingly, these very same four teams had secured their places in the semifinals of the previous edition of the ODI World Cup. New Zealand had triumphed over India, while England had defeated Australia in the semifinal clashes, leading them to an epic final showdown.

India, as the tournament hosts, enter the World Cup as one of the favorites. The team has bolstered its World Cup credentials with a recent victory in the Asia Cup and an impressive series win against Australia. India’s aspirations to clinch the coveted trophy appear promising.

England, the defending champions, currently stand as one of the most formidable sides in the cricketing world. Their explosive batting lineup and exceptional all-round skills make them a daunting team to face. Led by Jos Buttler, they are a force to be reckoned with.

Australia, boasting five World Cup titles, is another powerhouse in the competition. With an unmatched track record in the tournament, the Australians possess the experience and expertise required to succeed on the grandest stage of ODI cricket.

New Zealand, although yet to win the ODI World Cup, has consistently demonstrated their competitive spirit, finishing as runners-up in the previous two editions. With an eye on the championship, they are determined to claim the ultimate prize this time around.

As the cricketing universe awaits the opening clash between reigning champions England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, and Sanjay Manjrekar’s semifinal predictions add to the excitement and intrigue surrounding the tournament.
