Shak Mahedi Hasan, born on December 12, 1994, is a prominent Bangladeshi cricketer who represents Khulna Division and the Bangladesh national cricket team. His international journey commenced in February 2018 when he made his debut for Bangladesh.
Mahedi’s Twenty20 (T20) debut dates back to November 8, 2016, while playing for the Barisal Bulls in the 2016–17 Bangladesh Premier League.
In October 2018, he was included in the squad for the Comilla Victorians in the 2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League. A notable achievement occurred in November 2018 when he achieved his maiden five-wicket haul in first-class cricket while bowling for South Zone during the 2018–19 Bangladesh Cricket League.
He continued to be a part of the cricket scene, being named in a training camp ahead of Bangladesh’s 2019–20 season in August 2019. Furthermore, in November 2019, Mahedi was selected to play for the Dhaka Platoon in the 2019–20 Bangladesh Premier League.

His journey in Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) began in February 2018 when he was named in Bangladesh’s T20I squad for the series against Sri Lanka. He made his T20I debut for Bangladesh on February 18, 2018. While he was included in the squad for the first two T20Is in the 2019–20 Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series, he did not play and was subsequently dropped from the next two T20Is.
In November 2019, Mahedi’s talent was recognized once again when he was named in Bangladesh’s squad for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup and for the men’s cricket tournament at the 2019 South Asian Games, where Bangladesh clinched the gold medal.
In January 2021, Mahedi received an opportunity in Bangladesh’s One Day International (ODI) squad for their series against the West Indies. His ODI debut for Bangladesh took place on March 20, 2021, against New Zealand.
Continuing to make strides, in September 2021, he was included in Bangladesh’s squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and is also part of Bangladesh’s squad for the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup.
