Khondaker Sakib Al-Hassan, commonly known as Shakib Al Hasan, was born on March 24, 1987. He is a prominent Bangladeshi cricketer who currently serves as the captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team across all formats. Shakib is recognized for his aggressive left-handed batting in the middle order and his controlled slow left-arm orthodox bowling. He holds a distinguished reputation as one of the greatest all-rounders of his era and is considered the finest player to come out of Bangladesh.

Born in Magura, Khulna, Shakib began his cricket journey at a young age. He displayed considerable skill in the sport and was frequently recruited to play for various villages and teams, as noted by Prothom Alo sports editor Utpal Shuvro.
Shakib pursued his secondary and higher secondary education at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) and later earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from AIUB.
On December 12, 2012, he married Umme Ahmed Shishir, a Bangladeshi American. The couple’s first daughter, Alayna Aubrey Hasan, was born on November 8, 2015, followed by the birth of their second daughter, Errum Hasan, on April 24, 2020, and their first son, Eyzah Al Hasan, on March 16, 2021.
In August 2018, Shakib obtained a green card, granting him the ability to reside and work in the United States.
Shakib holds the position of chairman at Monarch Holdings and serves as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF in Bangladesh, as well as for Huawei and the Anti-Corruption Commission of Bangladesh. In August 2021, he announced the establishment of a new company, Burak Commodities Exchange Co, marking his entry into the gold business.
