Indian cricket team’s star fast bowler Mohammed Shami is ready to make a comeback after heel surgery. Shami was injured during the last ODI World Cup. Shami took 24 wickets in just 7 matches in this World Cup, but the injury halted his pace for some time. Shami has been the pillar of Indian bowling for the last few years. However, Shami made many big sacrifices for the success he has got. He was mentally disturbed. The situation had become such that Shami even wanted to commit suicide by jumping from the 19th floor.
Actually this incident happened when there was a lot of fight between Shami and his wife Haseen Jahan. Haseen had filed a case of assault against Shami. She also alleged that Shami had done match fixing by taking money from a Pakistani woman. However, later the police gave Shami a clean chit from these allegations, but his friend Umesh Kumar has now made a shocking revelation.
Mohammad Shami wanted to commit suicide
Umesh Kumar said that, ‘When there were fights between Shami and Haseen, Shami was fighting every kind of fight at that time. He used to live in my house, but when there were allegations of match fixing related to Pakistan and he was questioned, he broke down. He said that I can bear everything, but not the accusation of betraying the country.’

He said, ‘The night he was questioned, he did not sleep. I woke up at 4 in the night to drink water. As soon as I went towards the kitchen, I saw Shami standing in the balcony. We used to live on the 19th floor. I understood what was happening. I think that night was the longest night of Shami’s career. Later one day he got a message on his phone that the investigating committee has given him a clean chit. Perhaps he was happier that day than winning the World Cup.’
Shami became a champion again after being broken
Shami’s friend told how he handled himself after coming out of the difficult phase. Regarding all these issues, Shami had said that, ‘It depends on what you give more importance to and how true the other person is saying. When you know that the other person’s words are wrong and not important for you, then you should not deviate from your goals. If I was not Mohammed Shami, no one would have cared about me and neither would the media have been interested. So then why should I leave the thing that made me Shami. That’s why it is important to keep fighting.’
