Spencer Henry Johnson embarked on his List A journey during the 2017–18 JLT One-Day Cup, representing South Australia in the 15th match against Victoria. Despite being delisted ahead of the 2020/21 season, Johnson’s stellar displays in South Australian Premier Cricket earned him a return to the squad for the 2020-21 Marsh One-Day Cup.
The Adelaide Strikers enlisted Johnson for the 2020-21 Big Bash League season, although he didn’t feature in the tournament. However, he made his BBL debut for the Brisbane Heat in the 2022–23 season, playing ten matches and earning a reputation as a dependable death bowler.
