The tournament is structured with two groups, Group A and Group B, in order to facilitate its smooth progression. Sri Lanka has been placed in Group B. Kusal Janith Perera is anticipated to make a comeback to the ODI side after an absence of over two years. This return also implies that players like Angelo Mathews and Chamika Karunaratne have not secured spots in the national team for this edition.
