Suryakumar Yadav’s bat ignited in the 3rd T20I against the West Indies, as he played a scintillating innings of 83 runs from 44 balls, comprising 10 fours and 4 sixes. Yadav’s fiery knock not only propelled India to its first victory in the 5-match series but also etched his name in the record books by reaching the milestone of 100 T20I sixes.
Yadav achieved this feat in just 49 innings, making him the second fastest Indian to reach the 100 T20I sixes milestone, closely following West Indies’ opener Evin Lewis.

Yadav’s powerful strike over the short fine-leg boundary off Romario Shepherd in the 10th over marked his 100th six in T20Is.

Expressing his elation after the match, Suryakumar Yadav revealed, “It was really important to be myself when I went to bat. That is what the team management wanted from me at that point in time. I think I practiced these strokes a lot when I used to bat back at my home. We have batted together for a long time now. We understand how we bat together. It was his [Tilak Varma’s] day to bat with more maturity. The way you are batting is giving me the opportunity to express myself. It was a great thing to bat alongside him,” during the post-match presentation.
