Suryakumar Yadav to receive T20I Player of the year 2022 in ICC Awards

Suryakumar Yadav attained the number 1 ranking in the ICC rankings for T20 batters in 2022. He blasted two hundred in the year. One of his centuries came against England, and the other one against New Zealand. SKY’s nonchalant way of playing has baffled the bowlers, who could not find any answers against his batting in T20 cricket.

Suryakumar Yadav, Sam Curran, Mohammad Rizwan and Sikandar Raza are the four cricketers nominated by ICC for the T20I player of the year award 2022. All of these players had great T20Is this year and played fabulously for their teams.

Mohammad Rizwan was number one in the batting rankings before Suryakumar Yadav displaced him from his spot. The Pakistani opener has scored many runs this year to be counted as one of the best players in T20Is.

Sam Curran, the English all-rounder, was the player of the tournament in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, which England won by defeating Pakistan in the final. He continued with both bat and ball in the tournament. However, in the shortest format of the game, he has not performed that well for the rest of the year for England.

Lastly, Sikandar Raza has been the find of the year in T20Is. He was the one who carried Zimbabwe on his shoulders throughout the T20 World Cup. Raza was named man of the match in the crucial match in which Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan in the World Cup.

Suryakumar Yadav is currently the most likely player to win the player of the year award by ICC in T20Is due to his consistent form throughout the year. No one comes close to him when we talk about the consistency in T20s this year.
