Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian cricket team has reached the Super 8 of T20 World Cup 2024. In the group in which India is, some weak teams have also qualified, due to which its path forward seems a bit easier, but this task will not be as simple as it seems right now. This year’s tournament is hosted by America and West Indies. Team India will play T20 World Cup matches in West Indies after 14 years.

India played its league matches in USA and now it is West Indies’ turn. India had received deep wounds during the T20 World Cup 2010 in West Indies, the memories of which can be refreshed once again, so the Indian team will have to be cautious at every step. They won all their matches in the first round, while in the second round, after losing three consecutive matches they were out of the tournament.

The T20 World Cup has returned to West Indies after about 14 years. The memories of that year will still be in the mind of every Indian fan. That year, India entered the next round by defeating South Africa and Afghanistan in the league phase. That means the Indian team did not lose a single match in the league phase. After this, the Indian team could not win a single match in the next round.

This year too, India is going to the Super 8 by being undefeated. In the next round of 2010, India’s first match was against Australia. In that match, Team India had to face defeat by 49 runs. After this, the next match was against West Indies. The Indian team lost that match by 14 runs. After losing two matches in a row, Team India was already out of the race for the semi-finals.

Even after being out of the race for the semi-finals, India had a chance to bid farewell to the tournament by winning the last match. But it was unfortunate that they could not win that match as well. The last match was against Sri Lanka. In this match, India had to face defeat by 5 wickets. In this match, the Indian team gave a tough fight, but had to face defeat on the last ball.

With this, Team India lost three consecutive matches. Although Sri Lanka and West Indies are not in India’s group this time, but this time too there will be a match against Australia and which is supposed to be the most difficult match. In such a situation, the Indian team will try to secure their place in the semi-finals by winning their remaining matches against Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
