Royal Challengers Bangalore has managed to claim the fifth position in this exclusive chart. However, the most surprising thing is that RCB is the only ‘Cricket Franchise’ on this list.

RCB have failed to win a single IPL title since the inaugural season. However, the team always had superstars in it like Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle, Shane Watson, and many more.

As the Indian cricket team geared up for the final ODI against New Zealand in Indore, cricket fans were left wondering why local boy Rajat Patidar was left out of the playing XI. During the post-match press conference, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was asked about Patidar’s absence from the playing XI. Sharma explained that the team’s selection is based on current form and the best combination for the match.

He went on to add, “If there’s a place, we would’ve surely played him, but if Patidar has to play in Indore, by that logic Ishan Kishan will also tell us to play him in Ranchi (laughs).”

Sharma’s comment highlights the tough competition for spots in the Indian team and the pressure that players face to perform consistently.

Patidar will have to continue to work hard and make the most of every opportunity that comes his way, in order to break into the Indian team and make his dream of playing in front of his home crowd a reality.

Aakash Chopra on Virat’s 46th ODI hundred: “Saamne wali bowling thi sadharan, to Kohli ne kiya Virat roop dhaaran”

Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 166 off 110 balls, leading India to set a formidable 391-run target for Sri Lanka. India’s bowlers then bowled out Sri Lanka for 73, resulting in a massive 317-run win for India.

In a video review of the match, Aakash Chopra praised Kohli’s performance, saying “Virat Kohli is the Player of the Match and the Player of the Series. Virat the run-machine Kohli is back. Saamne wali bowling thi sadharan, to Kohli ne kiya Virat roop dhaaran,” which means “The bowling in front was ordinary, but Kohli brought out his Virat form”.

Aakash Chopra hailed Virat Kohli, by saying “The modern day batting great, has once again proven his worth by scoring a hundred in the first match in Guwahati and another hundred in Thiruvanthapuram. As a result, he was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Series. This outstanding performance silenced his critics and demonstrated that he is back at the top of his game.”

Chopra also commented on the criticism Kohli has been receiving, saying “I was reading a Pakistani handle that said that he scores only in dead rubbers, so did someone else score a century in the first match? Virat Kohli is back, looks absolutely sensational, back to his very prime. He actually owns this format.”

Chopra noted that Kohli’s century was his 46th in ODIs and he is only three behind Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 centuries in the format. During Kohli’s century, fans saw him hitting 13 fours and 8 sixes.

His consistency and ability to score big runs in crunch situations has been a hallmark of his career. Once again, he has proved himself as one of the finest batter in the world and led India to a series win.

  • Past IPL season heartbreak played a significant role in shaping Mohammed Siraj’s future in the ODIs

Past IPL season heartbreak played a significant role in shaping Mohammed Siraj’s future in the ODIs

The right-arm speedster had a disappointing season with Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2022, taking just 9 wickets in 15 games at an average of 57.11 and an economy of 10.08. Despite this, he is retained by the franchise for the next season.

However, instead of dwelling on the disappointment, Mohammed Siraj decided to use it as motivation to improve his white-ball bowling and change his career. He began working on his skills and when he started performing well in one or two One Day Internationals (ODIs), he gained the confidence to continue working on his game.

Siraj’s hard work paid off in the recent series against Sri Lanka, where he took 9 wickets at 10.22 and an economy rate of 4.05. He registered figures of 10-1-32-4 to bundle Sri Lanka out for 73 in Thiruvanthapuram on Sunday.

“When my IPL went downhill, I decided to work on my white-ball bowling and change my career. I started working on my skills, and when I did well in one or two ODIs, I got confidence,” he said.

The Hyderabad-born pacer added that he focuses on maintaining consistency in his line and length and strives for wickets even if he concedes runs. He also said that he doesn’t focus on results as long as he is consistent with his approach, which is what led to his improved performance.

“I want to be a satisfied bowler even if I don’t get wickets. The series worked well for me. I planned to get wickets with the new ball and put pressure on Sri Lanka. I didn’t mind giving away runs as wickets with the new ball can put the rivals under pressure,” Siraj said.

Siraj’s journey serves as an inspiration for other cricketers who may face disappointment in their careers, but use it as a boost to improve and succeed.

  • Once Virat Kohli said to this ex-RCB player,” Yeh Bumrah Vumrah Kya Karenge”

One of India’s finest pace bowlers Jasprit Bumrah made his IPL debut in 2015 with Mumbai Indians. An unorthodox fast bowler with a short run-up and bowling at 140+ speed constantly was the eye-catching feature of Bumrah. The fast bowler rose to success within a short period as his selection to the Indian team was at an eye blink process. He made his Indian national team debut in January 2016.

However, former Indian batter-wicketkeeper and ex-Royal Challengers Bangalore player, Parthiv Patel, discussed the behind story of Bumrah, before he achieved such heights. Since Parthiv Patel was the leader of the side Gujarat in the Ranji Trophy and Jasprit Bumrah used to play under him.

Parthiv Patel recalled the moment in 2014 when he asked Royal Challengers Bangalore captain ( Virat Kohli) to have a look at the young bowler full of determination and hard work for achieving success. However, Virat Kohli laughed it off saying, ” Chodd Na yrr Yeh Bumrah Vumrah kya krege” and then moved on from this conversation.

All the RCB fans just imagine the moment if Virat Kohli had then accepted this new bowler and picked him up in the squad. Then, probably RCB would not have suffered so many obstacles while defending the totals. It could have been their next big buy ever after Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.

How Virat Kohli Backed Jasprit Bumrah?

Although, Jasprit Bumrah made his international debut under MS Dhoni, the fast bowler grew exceptionally well under Virat Kohli’s captaincy. Even, the fast bowler himself has admired the captain Virat Kohli. Jasprit Bumrah against West Indies in a test in 2019, revealed how Virat Kohli’s belief in his fast bowler gives him and other bowlers the self-belief to try out new things.

Virat Kohli also admires the fast bowler a lot and never stays behind to replicate the pacer’s bowling action either on the field or off-field. These moments are pure joy to every cricket fans eyes.

Nevertheless, Jasprit Bumrah went on to take over India’s pace attack. Moreover, he was recently named as the vice-captain of Indian test team against Sri Lanka. Bumrah’s figures are astonishing for a fast bowler. He has 123 test wickets merely in 29 tests and 67 wickets in T20 cricket in 57 matches.

Also, Bumrah is the fastest Indian to take 50 test wickets and a hattrick to his name which adds more glory to his reputation.
