    Chennai Super Kings produced an all-round show to secure a 77-run victory over Delhi Capitals, which also helped them seal the IPL 2023 play-off berth.

    Chasing 224, DC skipper David Warner led from the front but didn’t find much support from his teammates as Delhi could only manage 146/9 in 20 overs.

    Warner scored 86(58), while none of the other batters could breach the 20-run mark, with Axar Patel’s 15(8) being the second-highest from the DC camp.

    Deepak Chahar scalped three wickets, while Sri Lankan duo Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana scalped two wickets each. Ravindra Jadeja and Tushar Deshpande also picked one wicket each.

    Earlier, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway added 141 runs for the opening wicket as CSK piled a gigantic 223/3 in 20 overs. Gaikwad was dismissed for 79(50), while Conway scored 87(52).

    Rossouw returned unbeaten on 82 off 37 balls, which featured six boundaries and the same number of maximums. Meanwhile, making a return to the XI, Shaw lived upto the expectations and scored 54(38). He provided his side with a strong start with skipper David Warner.

    Together the pair added 94 runs in 10.2 overs, before Dhawan grabbed a stunning catch to get rid of Warner for 46(31). Phil Salt too chipped in with a 14-ball 26. The outcome comes as a major blow to PBKS’ play-offs hope, however, they still remain in contention.

    Initially, GT reached 188/9 in 20 overs thanks to Shubman Gill’s century. The GT opener hit 101 runs on 58 balls, including 13 fours and one six. Meanwhile, Sai Sudharsan contributed with a crucial 47-run knock off 36 balls.

    Gujarat Titans is most likely going to play the first qualifier in the playoffs which is scheduled to be played in Chennai on 23rd May 2023.

Warner came out all guns blazing and ensured that DC had 69 runs in the powerplay. It looked like they were cruising towards victory at the time but the game has since flipped on its.

    DC lost five wickets, including those of Warner and the in-form Axar Patel, with Brar picking four of those between the seventh and 11th overs. DC eventually ended up on a score of 136/8 in their 20 overs after being 65/0 at the end of the powerplay.

    Samad returned unbeaten on 37(25), which featured one boundary and four maximums. Krunal Pandya was the most effective bowler from Lucknow camp as he picked two wickets and conceded 24 runs in his four overs.

    Pandey and the dangerous Rilee Rossouw tried building something but they ended up putting together a sluggish partnership that shot up the required rate for DC. Pandey eventually fell for 27 off 29 balls while Rossouw fell after scoring 35 off 37. Their partnership took up 59 balls and they scored only as many runs.
