After the 2025 Champions Trophy, India’s next big target in ODI cricket will be the 2027 ODI World Cup. So, what does Team India’s ODI schedule look like until the 2027 World Cup? Rohit Sharma and his team are set to play a total of nine bilateral ODI series, featuring 27 matches. Additionally, some more ODI matches may be scheduled closer to the tournament. However, after the Champions Trophy 2025, India will not play any ODIs for several months.
The 2027 ODI World Cup is expected to take place between October and December. Before that, Team India will play a significant number of matches. Since the 2023 ODI World Cup, India has played very few ODIs, but after the 2026 T20 World Cup, there will be a surge in ODI matches. Rohit Sharma and his team will compete in 27 ODIs before the 2027 World Cup, playing three-match ODI series against eight different teams. Additionally, India will face one team twice in bilateral series.
India will play ODI series against Australia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies, and Sri Lanka, while they will face New Zealand in two separate series. Out of these nine series, six will be played at home, while the remaining will be away series.

India’s ODI journey begins in August 2025 with an away series against Bangladesh. In October-November 2025, India will tour Australia for a three-match ODI series, followed by South Africa’s tour of India in November-December.

In January 2026, New Zealand will visit India for an ODI series. Later, in June 2026, India will face Afghanistan at home. In July 2026, India will tour England for three ODIs. In September-October 2026, West Indies will visit India, followed by New Zealand’s tour of India in October-November. Finally, in December 2026, India will host Sri Lanka for a three-match ODI series.
