Born on December 11, 1988, Timothy Grant Southee is a prominent New Zealand international cricketer renowned for his contributions across all formats of the game. He serves as the captain for the New Zealand cricket team in Tests and holds the role of vice-captain in T20Is. Southee is recognized for his skills as a right-arm fast-medium bowler and his ability to wield the bat effectively in the lower order.
Remarkably, he became the third New Zealand bowler to achieve the milestone of 300 Test wickets, a testament to his prowess in the game. Southee made his debut for the national team at a young age of 19 in February 2008, and on his Test debut against England, he left a memorable mark by taking 5 wickets and scoring 77 runs off just 40 balls in the second innings.
