Trent Boult recently voiced his desire for playing the the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 in an interview with the ESPN Cricinfo. The left-arm Kiwi pacer is currently representing Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. Boult is one of the most feared bowlers in the tournament with his swing bowling at the top.
Trent Boult last played for New Zealand in 2022 in the semi-final of T20 World Cup against Pakistan. Since then he has not represented New Zealand in any matches so far. Boult refused to get a central contract with the New Zealand Cricket Board as he wanted more freedom to play leagues all around the world.
Boult has missed out on a lot of international cricket as New Zealand decided to give opportunities to the players who are under the central contract list. There was a huge question mark on Boult’s participation in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023.
However, according to SENZ Radio, New Zealand Cricket CEO David White has confirmed in a conversation that Trent Boult will play the ODI World Cup 2023. With Kane Williamson injured, Boult will be one of the mainstays of New Zealand in the tournament.
