Alexandra Smith, known as Gert due to a childhood nickname, hails from New Zealand. She is a primary school teacher in Mount Maunganui, with a passion for cricket. Her Twitter bio describes her as a “Teacher, Pet lover, and Cook.”
In an interview, Gert emphasized that the New Zealand wives and girlfriends (WAG) don’t solely define themselves by their partners’ careers, as they all have families and jobs that keep them occupied.
Gert’s journey with Trent Boult began two years ago when they met in a Hamilton bar. She admitted that her knowledge of cricket was limited at the time, mostly influenced by her cousin Daniel Flynn, a former Black Cap. It was during her relationship with Trent that she gained a deeper understanding of the game.
Trent proposed to Gert during a hectic cricket schedule on a trip to Melbourne in June. The couple, who had been together for about three years, celebrated with family and friends, receiving warm applause at a cafe.
Their relationship became a topic of interest, even among Gert’s students, who playfully bet on whether she was dating the star cricketer, which turned out to be true.
Trent and Gert tied the knot on August 7, 2017, in a beautiful ceremony at Kauri Bay Boomrock in Clevedon, south of Auckland. Trent expressed his love and gratitude on Instagram, calling it “the best day of my life.”
The couple announced their pregnancy in July 2018, and in October 2018, they welcomed their first child, a baby boy. Trent Boult and his wife Gert Smith has welcomed another son in their family quite recently.
Gert gained prominence in the public eye when she started dating Trent, got married, and became a mother. She is well-regarded within the WAG community in New Zealand.
