The Indian team won the T20 World Cup 2024 title by defeating South Africa by 7 runs. Team India performed very well throughout the tournament and did not lose a single match. After winning the T20 World Cup title, star batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli said goodbye to the T20 International format. Both the players will no longer be seen playing in the shorter format of cricket for India. Both these players have proved their mettle on every ground in the world and have rained runs. Now it will not be easy to fill the place of both the players in the team. But there are 2 players in the Indian T20 team, who can open in place of Rohit and Virat.
Yashasvi Jaiswal did not feature in the T20 World Cup
Yashasvi Jaiswal was handling the responsibility of opening with Rohit Sharma for some time. But in the T20 World Cup, Virat opened with Rohit. Because of this, he remained on the bench throughout the time. Jaiswal is known for explosive batting and is adept at changing the course of the match in just a few balls. Once he is set at the crease, it seems difficult to stop him.
Yashasvi Jaiswal made his T20I debut for the Indian team in the year 2023. He has been a part of Team India that won the gold medal in the Asian Games 2023. So far, he has scored 502 runs in 17 T20I matches for Team India, including four half-centuries and a century. Jaiswal has already established himself in the Test side.

Shubman Gill is the Captain for the Zimbabwe Series
Shubman Gill did not get a chance in the Indian team’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. He was included in the reserve players. But he has been made the captain of the Indian team for the series against Zimbabwe. Shubman Gill was Rohit Sharma’s opening partner in the ODI World Cup 2023. Gill has a lot of strokes and can score runs on any ground.
He made his T20I debut for the Indian team in January 2023. Since then he has scored 335 runs in 14 T20I matches for the Indian team, including a century and a half-century. Gill has scored centuries in all three formats for India. Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal form a left-right combination. Therefore, both of them are big contenders to open in place of Rohit and Virat.
