VCA Stadium in Nagpur is going to hold the first Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia. The match is officially scheduled to begin on 9th February 2023. All the preparations are being made at the VCA Stadium to prepare a pitch that has been demanded by the Indian cricket team management.
It was recently reported that Indian cricket team coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma had demanded the curators of VCA Stadium to prepare a pitch that is not a rank turner. Instead, India wants to compete on the same level as Australia by providing a balanced pitch that will support both pace and spin.
The demand has been made due to Indian batters also struggling against the spin. The pitch at VCA Stadium is going to favour both the batters and bowlers. We will most likely see an even contest between the bat and the ball.
