Lahore Qalandars the defending champions of Pakistan Super League beat Multan Sultans by just 1 run in the opening match of PSL 2023. Rizwan’s 75 of 50 balls went in vain as Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf bowled wonderfully in the death overs.
Shaheen Afridi after winning the toss decided to bat first in Multan Cricket Stadium. Fakhar Zaman magnificent 66 of 42 balls helped Lahore Qalandar to reach 175 in 20 overs. Multan Sultan’s openers Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood stitched 100 runs partnership before the latter was dismissed while playing a scoop shot. However, the game went to the last ball thriller in which Lahore Qalandar emerged victorious.
