Team India captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their retirement. After them, Ravindra Jadeja also announced to quit T20 cricket. Rohit and Virat will continue to play in ODIs and Test cricket. Recently Rohit Sharma had made it clear that he is not going to retire so soon. He had told that he will play more.
Meanwhile, a statement has come from former Indian cricketer Amit Mishra. Amit Mishra had said in an interview that Virat Kohli has arrogance. Mishra had said that the Chiku I knew is no longer the same Virat Kohli. There has been a lot of change in him. Amit Mishra gave this reaction in Shubhankar Mishra’s interview.
In this interview, Mishra has given a statement about Rohit Sharma’s retirement. Mishra says that Rohit is not going to play in the next ODI World Cup. He will say goodbye to the game after playing the Champions Trophy. Mishra said that Rohit is going to play for two more years now.
Amit Mishra’s statement about Kohli was also similar. He said that Virat Kohli is also going to play for two more years now. He is also not going to be seen playing in the ODI World Cup to be held in the year 2027. Rohit and Kohli will play for Team India for only two years.
Mishra said, “Rohit Sharma still has two-three years of cricket left, but he will not play in the ODI World Cup in 2027. He will play in the IPL. He will retire from international cricket in two years. Probably Virat Kohli will also retire at the same time after the Champions Trophy 2025. They both will retire from international cricket together and they will have to retire for the next generation. If they do not retire, how will new players come into the team? They are already 35+, and at the time of retirement, they will be around 39 years old and players play till this age, maximum 40.”
Apart from this, Mishra also talked about the behavior of both the players. He said that Virat Kohli has changed due to fame and power but there has been no change in Rohit Sharma from the beginning till now. Mishra said, “The difference is in nature. Rohit is very open with his players. One very good thing about Rohit is that when I met him for the first time, he was the same as he is now. After gaining fame, power and captaincy, there was a lot of change in Virat. When you get power, you feel that everyone is talking to you for some reason.”
