The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan ICC ODI World Cup 2023 match, originally scheduled for October 15 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, is likely to be rescheduled. Security agencies have requested the BCCI to modify the schedule because the game coincides with the first day of Navratri, a significant holiday celebrated with garba evenings in Gujarat.
The potential rescheduling poses a challenge for fans who have already made travel arrangements and purchased tickets, as the match between India and Pakistan typically attracts a massive audience and record-breaking TRPs for broadcasters.
Narendra Modi Stadium, with a seating capacity of approximately 1 lakh, was designated to host four major matches in the World Cup schedule: the opening match between New Zealand and England, India vs Pakistan, England vs Australia, and the championship match.

The tournament will be held in ten cities, with Mumbai and Kolkata hosting the semifinals. Reports from Ahmedabad indicate that all homestay options have been fully booked, and most hotels are already overbooked for mid-October, leading to an anticipated rise in airfare.
In response to the situation, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has sent a letter to the organizations organizing the World Cup games, inviting them to a meeting on July 27 in New Delhi. During the meeting, it is expected that the revised date for the India-Pakistan match will be discussed along with security concerns in the Ahmedabad area.
