India recently announced its 15 man squad for upcoming Cricket World Cup 2023 and shockingly left out Yuzvendra Chahal despite the tournament being scheduled to be played in India which is traditionally a spinner dominated cricketing country.
Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel are the three spinners that India have selected in its World Cup squad. Both Jadeja and Axar are very similar type of bowlers with little or no spin with their left arm spin bowling. On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav is the only leg-spinner in the squad. There is no back-up for him despite the fact that the leg spinners are currently ruling the roost in the cricketing world.
Yuzvendra Chahal has been left out by India for some unknown and unfathomable reason. The logic behind the team management’s thinking is hard to explain as Chahal is a proven spinner. Also, India has also missed out on reuniting the famous duo of Kul-Cha in the World Cup. Kuldeep and Chahal bowl excellently together and could have been a huge trouble for the batters in the tournament.

Yuzvendra Chahal was in India’s T20I World Cup 2022 squad but did not get a single game in the tournament. It is being said that India made a blunder by not including Chahal in any of the World Cup 2022 matches. For the upcoming Cricket World Cup, Yuzi Chahal is not even selected. This is surely going to hurt India in the tournament.
Chahal has played 72 ODIs in which he has accounted for 121 wickets at an impressive bowling average of 26. His records speaks for itself and there is no more left to say about the blunder that could hurt India.
