PNG hasn’t faced a Full Member team since January 2023, making this a prime opportunity for the West Indies to test them with the pace of Shamar Joseph and Alzarri Joseph early on. Only five players in the PNG squad have experience playing in the West Indies.

There might be a temptation to include the big-hitting Norman Vanua to add an element of surprise. A key player for PNG will be left-arm finger spinner John Kariko, the leading wicket-taker in their recent cycle, who brings valuable experience from playing in the 2022 Under-19 World Cup in these conditions.
