The sale of tickets for the ODI World Cup, which was delayed, finally began on Friday. However, fans encountered difficulties as the official website was not operational for around 35 to 40 minutes.
The ticketing partner ‘Bookmyshow’ crashed due to high demand, frustrating fans who were eager to book tickets for non-India matches and warm-ups. Despite the delayed ticket announcement, the lack of proper infrastructure reflects poorly on the BCCI and ICC, according to disappointed fans.
Although the website started working after half an hour, many fans had already lost patience. Ticket sales for India’s matches in Chennai, Delhi, and Pune are set to start on August 31, while tickets for the highly anticipated India-Pakistan match in Ahmedabad will be available on September 3.

The staggered sale process was intended to ensure a smooth experience, but fans have criticized the organizers for their handling of ticket sales and the schedule. Earlier this month, the BCCI and ICC had to revise the schedule of nine games after initially announcing the full schedule in June.
