World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25: Points Table & Standings: The third edition of the World Test Championship has begun with the Ashes on 16th June 2023. The current Test champions Australia will face the England Cricket Team in a five-match Test series to kick off the third cycle of the World Test Championship.

Australia defeated India in the WTC Final 2023 to lift the Test Mace. They were crowned the champions of the second edition of the WTC Cycle. On the other hand, India has reached the final in both editions of WTC so far but has failed to grasp the trophy. The first edition of WTC, which was played during 2019-2021, was won by the New Zealand Cricket Team.

World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25: Points Table & Standings

India’s journey in the World Test Championship 2023-25 will begin with a two-match Test series against West Indies which is going to be played on India’s Tour to West Indies in July 2023. Ashes is the first Test series being played in the current WTC Cycle. It started on 16th June 2023 and will conclude on 31st July 2023. A total of five matches will be played between England and Australia in Ashes this year.

A total of nine Test-playing nations are participating in the WTC 2023-25 Cycle. These countries include India, Australia, England, Pakistan, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Bangladesh. These nine teams will compete in a total of 68 matches over the course of two years. Each cricketing nation participating in WTC 2023-25 will play a total of six Test series. Three of the Test series will be in away mode, while the rest three are going to be played at home for every team.

A minimum of 12 Test matches and a maximum of 22 matches are going to be played by each team in the WTC 2023-25 Cycle. The final of the tournament will be held at the iconic Lord’s Stadium in London in 2025.
