All-rounder Grace Harris displayed her hitting prowess in a thrilling Women’s T20 Challenge match against Gujarat Giants on Sunday, leading UP Warriorz to a memorable victory.
The Queenslander walked in when her team needed 84 runs off 48 balls with six wickets in hand and ended up unbeaten on 59 off just 26 deliveries, including hitting 19 runs in the final over to secure the win.

Speaking after the match, Harris acknowledged that her start wasn’t pretty, but she was able to compose herself and get clarity just in time. She praised her coach for encouraging her to bat freely and get a feel for the conditions. Harris also credited England seamer Sophie Ecclestone’s contribution of 22 off 12 balls in their whirlwind 70-run partnership, stating that Ecclestone’s clean striking motivated her to run harder.
The Giants had set a challenging total of 169-6, thanks to Harleen Deol’s 46 and cameos from Sabbhineni Meghana, Ashleigh Gardner, and Dayalan Hemalatha. While the Giants were in control for most of the game with the ball, it wasn’t enough in the end.
With this win, UP Warriorz moved to second place in the Women’s T20 Challenge points table. On the other hand, the Giants find themselves on zero points in two games and will look to redeem their campaign when they face Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday.
