In the ICC World Test Championship final, Australia’s prolific batsman Steve Smith reached his century after being on 95 runs at the end of Day 1. Smith, along with Travis Head, was gradually finding his rhythm on a pitch that offered little assistance to the pacers.
Mohammed Siraj unleashed a barrage of short balls, securing the vital wicket of Travis Head. Despite Head’s attempts to counter-attack, he was caught by wicket-keeper KS Bharat, departing after a well-made 163 runs off 174 balls, adding to the chaos at The Oval.
